The First Day of School is Quickly Approaching!

It feels like I blinked and August is almost over.  How did that happen?  Besides trying to spend as much quality time with my family as possible, I've been getting my room ready for the new year and attending quite a few meetings...  I'm forever grateful to my hubby for talking me into a few changes in the classroom decor.  I'm also thankful to my wonderful daughter for all of her help as well!  Here are a few photos of the classroom set-up:

 

 

It was wonderful meeting all of my new students and their families Thursday evening.  I can't wait until Monday to begin the new school year!! :)

                                     

Updating the Blog

Shannon Langston, from Now Starring in Third has shown me all sorts of fun things I can do with the blog.  So far, I have added the Scholastic Book Wizard link to the sidebar and updated the blogs I follow.  As you can see, the Scoot Pad and Book Wizard icons don't fit properly.  This has led me to search a new blog design.  I like the design I have and don't know if I want to change it, but time will tell if I can find a free one I like that will make everything look 'cleaner'.  Until then, keep checking back often.  I will work on adding a few pages as well as photos of the classroom set-up.  Maybe I should also take a second to thank Mother Nature for providing a nice weekend to prepare the room without the need of air conditioning!  

Before I begin seeing double from all of the blog design searching, I better step away from the computer for awhile and locate my family. ;) 

Classroom Preparation Time

It is that time of year again!  Today was the first day we could get our classroom key and check out what we are in for to get ready for the new school year.  I snapped a few photos and made yet another 'To Do List'.  Here are some BEFORE photos:

 

 

After sweating like crazy last year in early August, it would be so wonderful if the weather stayed in the low 80's this year! (Do you hear that Mother Nature)? ;)
