This past week, we read about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  I was inspired by our Art teacher, Mrs. Cooper, who showed me the wonderful notes of some students who wrote while they watched a video about an artist they were studying.  I offered students the same opportunity while we watched Brainpopjr about the two presidents.  They were able to rattle off many facts using their notes after the videos.  I was blown away by their responses!  Here are some photos from our week:

Happy Valentine's Day!

This past week, we had a great time as we celebrated Valentine's Day!  We also worked hard on writing an opinion piece; students needed to write an opinion statement, support their opinion with a reason, and write a concluding statement.  For the last lesson, students wrote their opinion piece as a blog post.  Then, students shared and commented on each other's writing.  It was a wonderful experience for all!  Here are some photos from our week:

This past week's Science focus was all about taking care of our bodies.  We had a blast learning about the human body during COSI; we are so lucky to have a wonderful PTO that support these great programs!  Here are some photos from our week:
