About Me

My photo
I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in June 2009. I began my wonderful career teaching first grade shortly thereafter, in August 2009. In June 2016, I completed my Masters with the focus in Reading grades K-6th grade. This will be my seventh year utilizing a blog and hope that it will provide parents with another avenue to view their child's accomplishments throughout the school year.

Unfortunately, I am having issues with the camera on my phone, so I only have a few photos to post for this week.  It might be an on-going issue until I can get it resolved.
We have been reading and looking deeply into the book Stellaluna.

The Dot

What another great week we had in room 105.  We are really making a great impression to others with how well we have acclimated into the first weeks of first grade.  Thank you to all of the parents who have supported your child during this transition!  Here are some photos from our week:
We read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds.
We had fun as we learned about fire safety from Firefighter Phil.

The Best Story

We continue to learn about and practice using Literacy Stations.  Mrs. Langston let us borrow a great book that inspired us to look inside our hearts when we write books at the Writing Station.  Here a some photos from our week:

Moving Right Along

We had such a wonderful week this past week!  The students in Room 105 are showing what capable first graders they have become.  We have accomplished so much because of how well each and every one of them are doing.  Here are some photos from our week:
We made staircases in Math.
We showed what we 'can do' in Literacy Stations.

I promise, I did not guide this learning. ;)

You could hear a pin drop in our room!

Staff members were able to tour the construction site of the new building this past week.  It was so neat to see how far they have gotten with building the classrooms!  Here are a few photos from our adventure:

We are standing in the second grade classrooms.
Your children will have amazing views!
