About Me

My photo
I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in June 2009. I began my wonderful career teaching first grade shortly thereafter, in August 2009. In June 2016, I completed my Masters with the focus in Reading grades K-6th grade. This will be my sixth year utilizing a blog and hope that it will provide parents with another avenue to view their child's accomplishments throughout the school year.

Walk-a-Thon

I just realized that I didn't post photos from our Walk-a-Thon on Friday!
My brain is going in so many directions lately...really looking forward to taking some time to
s-l-o-w i-t d-o-w-n. :)

Field Day

Sounds like I missed out on the exciting time that occurred for our rainy field day this morning.  I got to walk into the classroom after the rain had dissipated and the students were settling in eating their lunch.  The one thing I forgot was to leave our guest teacher my camera...thank you to a parent for emailing me a few photos of the fun!

Success Night

Thank you to all of the families who were able to attend the Open House Success Night this past Wednesday.  The students were so excited to showcase their work; most importantly, their ocean animal projects and their published Writer's Workshop books!  I've uploaded photos from the event.

This photo is of our Kindergarten teacher...this student dedicated her book to her. :)

 Future students!?!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

My goodness, the days in May seem to go so much quicker than any other days in the year!
I cannot believe we only have 7 more school days left.
Here are some photos showing just a few of things we have been up to in room 109.

We worked with 3-D shapes.

Our Student of the Week (2 weeks ago) made a PowerPoint Presentation. :)

We worked cooperatively as we made our banner for the Walk-a-Thon.

This was what I saw from the Reading Table and happened to have my camera close by.
Just love watching students be so engaged in their reading!

Hahaha!  I hope I can stop laughing long enough to type about this one...
We  looked through the Writer's Workshop books I have saved throughout the year to then decide which one we will publish.  It was quite amusing to watch their faces and listen to their comments as they went through their books. :)

On Friday, our Student of the Week shared.
