About Me

My photo
I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in June 2009. I began my wonderful career teaching first grade shortly thereafter, in August 2009. In June 2016, I completed my Masters with the focus in Reading grades K-6th grade. This will be my seventh year utilizing a blog and hope that it will provide parents with another avenue to view their child's accomplishments throughout the school year.

All About Me

This past week, our theme was All About Me.  We had lots of fun with our first 'big craft' during this unit.  We also shared our personal artifacts.  The document camera couldn't have arrived at a better time as we used it to project our artifacts on the Smart Board!  I was so excited about using the document camera, that I forgot to take photos of how well it works for us in the classroom!

Here are a few photos of what we did last week (my apologies on the quality of some of these...a new camera is on my short list!):

Our World and Us

Every year, I always enjoy observing the students as we begin the Our World and Us unit.  This year was certainly no different!  My hope is your child is coming home and sharing with you some of these wonderful things we do in class.  Here are some photos of yet another great week in room 105!

Literacy Stations and More

What another great week we had in room 105!  We learned and practiced using two new Literacy Stations, played more games in Math, and began writing our own books in Writer's Workshop.
